THE HOT SARDINES AND JASON MORAN CELEBRATE FATS WALLER - A DOUBLE BILL CONCERT! Channeling the stylish swank and gritty charm of New York speakeasies, Parisian cabarets, and New Orleans jazz halls of the past, The Hot Sardines play infectiously fun vintage music with a modern edge. The energetic 8-piece band specializes in "jump" and "hot" jazz from the 1910s and '20s, classic pop songs, and familiar standards with smart arrangements and unmistakable flair. Sharing the bill, pianist Jason Moran lends his formidable talents to the music of one of jazz's most charismatic figures, with his riotous interpretations of Fats Waller.

DR. STRANGELOVE
Or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb
DR. STRANGELOVE (1964) - A U.S. Air Force commander, believing that there is a Communist conspiracy underway to poison the water supply, launches an attack by nuclear bombers against the Soviet Union. Director Stanley Kubrick mocks the Cold War, the U.S. military-industrial complex, and American politics in what is arguably the greatest satire in American cinema. With a script co-written by Kubrick, Terry Southern, and Peter George, there is perhaps no other movie that contains so many memorable scenes and so much quotable - even legendary - dialogue. Likewise, Kubrick's casting selection is impeccable - it's difficult to single out a favorite performance or actor. Everyone in this stellar cast is at the absolute top of his game: Peter Sellers playing three roles (American President, British liaison officer, and "ex" Nazi scientist), George C. Scott as the bellicose General "Buck" Turgidson, Sterling Hayden as the delusional General Jack D. Ripper, Keenan Wynn as the aggressive Colonel "Bat" Guano, Slim Pickens as the insanely cheerful bomber pilot, James Earl Jones as the unflappable bomber navigator... Every actor delivers. Every performance is superb. This is a masterpiece of black comedy with frightening implications still relevant to this day.

THE BIG LEBOWSKI
THE BIG LEBOWSKI (1998) - One of the most subversively hilarious films of the late 20th century, this Coen Brothers production is a comedy of errors, a case of mistaken identity and a riot from start to finish. Jeffrey “The Dude” Lebowski (Jeff Bridges), an infinitely loveable aging Los Angeles hipster, is plunged into a horrendous set of ever-escalating circumstances, testing his laid-back calm at every turn. Allowing himself to be guided by his conspiracy theorizing Vietnam veteran bowling partner, Walter Sobchak (John Goodman), "The Dude" (aka the "Little Lebowski") seeks restitution for a soiled rug from another Jeffrey Lebowski (aka the "Big Lebowski"), a reclusive millionaire who enlists "The Dude" in solving the kidnapping of his errant wife. Absolute bedlam and chaos ensue. This is one of those rare classic films that demands repeated viewings. No matter how many times you may have seen it before, you’ll still be catching dramatic ironies, character arcs, subtle quirks, and ingenious wordplay that you missed previously.

ALL THE PRESIDENT'S MEN
ALL THE PRESIDENT'S MEN (1976) - Washington Post journalists Bob Woodward (Robert Redford) and Carl Bernstein (Dustin Hoffman) discover a connection between the 1972 Watergate burglary of the National Democratic headquarters and staffers at the Republican White House. With the support of executive editor Ben Bradlee (Jason Robards) and inside information from their ultra-secret source, "Deep Throat" (Hal Holbrook), Woodward and Bernstein doggedly connect the dots and follow the money all the way to the top. Faithfully adapted by William Goldman from the Pulitzer Prize-winning book authored by these same reporters, this is a thrilling - and true - account of the scandal that rocked a nation and brought down a President. Redford, Hoffman, and Robards merge seamlessly with their real-life counterparts in this tale of everyday heroism and truth versus corruption.
Oscars for Best Supporting Actor (Jason Robards), Best Screenplay, Best Art Direction, and Best Sound
